At San Francisco Airport, Enroute to the California Democratic Council Convention are Attorney General Edmund "Pat" Brown; Alan Cranston of Los Altos, President of the CDC, and Mrs. Cranston; Mr. and Mrs. Tom Winnett (candidate for the CDC Vice Presidency) of Berkeley; and Tom Saunders of Kensington, CDC Treasurer. The convention, opening Friday in Long Beach, Calif., will elect a new term of CDC officers, discuss issues and determine the political course to steer in the days ahead. CDC is a federation of California Democratic clubs, some five hundred in number with a total membership of more than fifty thousand. To this unique organization goes much of the credit for the substantial Democratic gains in California since the CDC's founding in late 1953..
