Newscopy: "CHURCH OF THE WEEK--Glad Tidings Temple, 1451 Ellis-st, will welcome a new pastor, Rev. Nelson E. Hinman of South Bend, Ind., tomorrow. He becomes the third pastor of this church, which was organized in 1912, and succeeds Rev. L. R. Keys. Rev. Hinman was formerly chaplain of the California State Senate while he served Sacramento's Bethel Temple for seven years, and has done considerable work in establishing school classes for the blind. Glad Tidings has a seating capacity of 1800 and a 60-voice choir which sings each Sunday morning and evening under the direction of Peter G. Shields. Rev. Hinman was accompanied to San Francisco by his wife and 10-year-old son, Nels." |
