Notes Written on cover: "The Rose Room of the world famous Palace Hotel in San Francisco".
Written on verso of front cover: "The famous Palace Hotel in San Francisco has played host to the world from the days of its origin and the colorful bonanza kings to the modern hotel of today. In a city ever gay and romantic, the Rose Room of the Palace has captured the spirit that is San Francisco. Here the great name bands and entertainers of America pass in review to the delight of San Franciscan and visitor alike who gather nightly for dinner and supper dancing. The Rose Room in itself is renowned for its beauty. The exquisite Aubusson tapestries woven in France expressly for the walls of the room have given way to the classic modern decor of Matisse pink, but are still carefully preserved in the archives of the Palace. The series of stately mirrored doors are thrown wide, giving to the diners a vista of the unique Garden Court beyond, where the massive crystal chandeliers suspended from the vaulted dome gleam softly on the flowering shrubs and tall Ionic marble columns, like a scene from another world. No visit to San Francisco is complete without an evening, or many of them, in the Rose Room of the Palace."
