Notes On back: "SXP040406-4/4/62-SAN FRANCISCO: A three-man team of federal officials will renew efforts 4/5 to end the three-week-old West Coast maritime strike which has caused Gov. William F. Quinn of Hawaii to declare a state of emergency in the islands. Quinn proclaims a state of emergency because there was less than a two-week supply of more than 20 commodities including rice, butter, flour, frozen meet & other grocery items. This serial view of San Francisco's pier 50 shows 7 American President Lines' passenger and cargo ships idled at dockside by strike."
