Note: this pix shows the white marble ionic pillars 'Portals of the Past' in their original location on Nob Hill, all that was left of the A. N. Towne mansion after it was destroyed by the 1906 earthquake & fire in S. F. The pillars were later moved to LLoyd Lake in Golden Gate Park & named 'Portals of the Past'... they are still standing in that location.".
