Notes Note on photo: "CELEBRATION 'FEAST OF CHRIST THE KING' - 50,000 kneel in benediction service here. San Francisco, California... Thousands of catholics from all parishes in the city and outlying communities knelt through an impressive ceremony held yesterday at Seals Stadium (San Francisco baseball park), celebrating the 'Feast of Christ the King.' The services began with a striking effect as hundreds of priests, some in gold vestments, and others in cassocks and lace surplices, trod slowly in a solemn procession of the blessed sacrament. At the end, under a golden canopy, walked the most reverend Archbishop Edward J. Hanna, bearing the blessed sacrament. Hymns were sung by a choir of 1,500 school children as the procession circled the field. Rites at stadium - photo shows immense throng that crowded Seals Stadium for services.".
