Notes On back: "THIS IS A GRIP--Sarabia Aurelis of 705 Broadway, grip repairman, demonstrates with a section of test cable how the 'grip' works. When the gripman on the car wants to move forward he operates a lever which tightens this 275-lb steel clamp around the moving cable like a squeezing fist. The inch-and-a-quarter cable, which weighs 2 1/2 pounds to the foot, has a greaking strength of 130,000 pounds. A cable car weighs about 11,500 pounds."
