Notes Newscopy: "CABLES BY CHARTER--The Citizens Committee to save the Cable Car today began circulating an initiative charter amendment that would require the city to continue its cable lines. First signer was John T. Johnson, for 55 years a gripman, pictured with Mrs. Clark L. Mahany, committee member. Petition came out after the first showing of 'San Francisco - Gateway to the Pacific,' a documentary film with many cable car scenes, at the Golden Gate Theater."
