Letter accompanying pictures: "Your Honor - Congratulations on the 50th Anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge. Here are pictures of flight of 20 B 29s on a fly over the Golden Gate Bridge. The occasion was the national American Legion Convention 1, Oct. 1946. A Bn. and 2nd Inf. Div. Band were trucked from Fort Lewis Wash. for the occasion. Bivouac at Fort Cronkhite. While sightseeing on Fort Cronkhite, just happened to be up high on the hills overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco, so being at the right place and the right time I got these pictures on 3, Oct. 1946. I was in the 2nd Inf. Div. Band at the time. Hope you can use these pictures."
