Notes On back: "THE SAN FRANCISCO-OAKLAND BAY BRIDGE AT THE END OF THE SECOND YEAR--Catwalks will soon be erected from the Concrete Center Anchorage to Yerba Buena Island, establishing the first overhead connection between this Island and the mainland. This photograph, taken at the end of the second year of construction of this world's largest bridge, shows the catwalks built for one mile out into the Bay and preparation underway for extending them another mile to the Island. Fourteen deck truss spans and four through truss spans are visible in the East Bay."
