BRIDGE CAISSON DREDGING WELL - The size of one of the dredging wells in the deep water compressed air flotation caissons for the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge may be seen from comparison with the size of the men standing within one of the cylinders. Left to right are Chas. E. Andrew, Bridge Engineer, E. J. Schneider, Columbia Steel Company, Chief Engineer C. H. Purcell of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, Ralph H. Moore and Joseph A. Moore of Moore Dry Docks, Florence M. McAuliffe, California Toll Bridge Authority, and George Creel. The engineers, in company with the Moore brothers, inspected the progress of caissons in construction at Moore Dry Docks. 9-30-33".
