THE FIRST PIER COMPLETED FOR THE SAN FRANCISCO-OAKLAND BAY BRIDGE - At the foot of Harrison Street, San Francisco, Bridge Pier 2, upon which will rest the most westerly tower of the suspension sector of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, may be seen in this photo, with a ferry boat in the distance. This pier stands 40 feet out of the water and is 52 feet wide by 122 feet long. 12-8-33".
