Notes |
Newscopy: "It's the Seal Mudcat band, folks, and they're tuning up for their Coast League debut tomorrow at the Seals Stadium. The tune is 'Take Me Out to the Ball Game,' or maybe it's 'We'll See You in the Moonlight,' as they're playing four nights a week this year. Crooning at the piano in the final rehearsal is Manager 'Lefty' O'Doul. In first row, left to right, are Ernie Raimondi, third baseman, with saxophone; Keith Frazier, outfielder, tootling on the clarinet; Brooks Holder, outfielder, blowing on the cornet, and Ted Jennings, shortstop, wheedling a note from a 'sax.' Harley Boss (left, in rear) goes to town on slip-horn. Sam Gibson, starting pitcher, strums on the guitar, and Dom Di Maggio warbles on the clarinet. The Seals grabbed Dick Aurandt's instruments at the Shrine luncheon yesterday at the Palace Hotel." |
