| Notes |
Printed on back: "SIXTY MILLIONS IN SILVER DOLLARS--IN ONE PLACE--In the Forty-Nine days, it was prevalent belief elsewhere that gold was to be picked up in the streets of California towns. Well, here's $60,000,000 in Chinese Money, part of it stacked outside near the U.S. Mint at San Francisco. The Chinese silver dollars are worth $24,000,000 in America. They were shipped over in 12,000 boxes. The Huge shipment taxed the storage facilities at the old mint, so part is stacked outside. The coin is heavily guarded. Each box weighs nearly 50 pounds. The shipment is said to be collateral to cover a loan to the Chinese government." |
