Printed on back: "BALBOA HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WIN PERPETUAL TROPHY--Students from Balboa High School, San Francisco, were awarded the Kiwanis Club of San Francisco Perpetual Trophy for the best overall entries received from any one school in the 23rd Annual Invest-In-America Economic Discussion Program on the subject of 'My Future In the American Economic System'. Shown, left to right, Kathy Page, Rafael Delfin, W.L. Hart, Jr., social studies teacher, Dr. Yvette Del Prado, Assoiate Superintendent, San Francisco Unified School District, Mary Elzy and Gabriel Hurtado III. Panfilo Costantini (not shown in this picture) received third prize for the best entry received from any school in San Francisco. The prize consisted of two shares of Southern Pacific Company common stock. The trophy, presented by the Kiwanis Club of San Francisco, remains in the possession of the winning school for the next twelve months. Eleven San Francisco schools participated in the overall program.". |
