Newcopy: "Workers swing out section of nearly completed house in Marin City. Marin City's 'instant housing' project is going up at full speed despite a threatened protest to the county's supervisors Tuesday. Site of the project is on a hill on the western side of Marin City, and the pole foundations eliminate the need for grading and excavating, Johnston pointed out. The poles are driven into the ground the first day, floors and plumbing installed the second, walls put up on the third day, roofing and electrical work done on the fourth and fifth days. Each house is on a 7500 square-foot lot (the county minimum) and there are four models available."
