Notes On back: "SF385768..... (San Francisco Bureau) IOWA IN THE VAN AS FLEET ARRIVES - SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF.,--Smartly dressed 45,000-ton battleship Iowa, followed by 28 ships of the U. S. Navy's First Task Fleet steams majestically under Golden Gate Bridge into San Francisco Bay, marking first major concentration of Naval Vessels in San Francisco since Admiral Halsey brought the victorious third fleet here in 1945. Matching the Navy gray is heavy overcast which completely obscures bridge towers. Four day visit by the fleet occasioned by Naval Reserve Week fete. Bureaus T CREDIT LINE (ACME) 5/22/47".
