Notes Newscopy: "Be kind to animals is one of the thoughts instilled in Chinese American born tots in the Chinese Nursery School directed by the Adult Division of the California Department of Education through the Federal Emergency Education Program in San Francisco. Trained nurses and nursery school teachers not only supervise the physical and mental development of these children, but also instruct the Chinese parents in child guidance. Medical examinations are given the children periodically and they are provided with nutritious and well-balanced meals while in school. Parents of the children are also given instructions in child guidance. It is the only nursery school training Chinese children in the United States. Photo shows some of the children attending the school.".
