| Description |
Provides youth development and related services targeted towards Vietnamese Americans living in the Tenderloin. Provides employment services for youth, 14 to 21 years of age, offering part-time work experience, job readiness workshops, counseling, academic monitoring, and other support services during the school year and summer. Participates in the Mayor's Youth Employment and Education Program (MYEEP). Provides individual and group counseling, case management, and services for at-risk youth and their families. Provides drop-in services for Vietnamese and other Asian Americans of any age. Drop-in services include assistance and information with resettlement and other transitional issues including language assistance, employment, benefits advocacy and immigration and legal matters. |

The After-school Program provides youth, 10 to 18 years of age, access to all the center's services and also includes tutoring, life skills workshops, substance abuse prevention workshops, drama classes, video production classes, support groups and recreational projects. The Youth Leadership Project offers youth, 14 to 18 years of age, opportunities to participate in neighborhood improvement projects in the Tenderloin, leadership training, youth advocacy project, volunteer opportunities, community events, participation, and creative arts projects in the community. Asian American Communities for Education (AACE) provides educational counseling and information including assistance with entering or re-entering high school; choosing a college; preparing forms for college admissions and financial aid; and career information and planning. AACE also sponsors presentations, activities, and group outings that assist students in choosing a college or career. |
