Description The only hospital-based child abuse and domestic violence prevention program in California that specifically serves the Asian/Pacific Islander (API) communities. Locations include San Francisco General Hospital and two centers in Chinatown: a Family Support Center and a Counseling Center. Services include Home Visitation, Support Groups, Parenting Education, Parental Stress Hotline, Health Education, Counseling, Employment Services and Community Development. The staff is multilingual and multicultural in seven different Asian languages. APA is also the fiscal agent and coordinates the Asian Pacific Islander Family Resources Network (APIFRN) which is a collaboration of 27 public and private agencies in San Francisco with bilingual services for API children and families. APA is a member of the San Francisco Domestic Violence Consortium and the Safe Start Initiative. Formerly known as Asian Perinatal Advocates (APA)
Eligibility Asian and Pacific Islander (Cambodian, Chinese, Filipino, Laotian, Vietnamese, Samoan, Japanese, Korean) families with children 0-14 years age and living in San Francisco.

Application Phone or drop in to schedule an interview. Clients are also referred from San Francisco General Hospital, other hospitals and community agencies.
