Description A multipurpose bilingual community center for English and Spanish speaking individuals that provides activities for all ages. Serves as a senior center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a senior lunch at 12:15 p.m. Offers social activities including bingo. Field trips and holiday events are sometimes offered. Call for availability.
Administers the REACH program (Relief for Energy Assistance through Community Help) for applicants in the following ZIP code areas: 94110, 94112, 94114, 94116, 94131, 94132, 94134. Call 415-648-0260, 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., Monday or Thursday for an intake appointment. This program (co-sponsored by PG&E) assists individuals with paying their utility bills and arranges for special energy needs. The REACH program is for individuals who are low-income, senior, disabled or severely ill, or experiencing financial hardship. Provides a monthly food box for eligible clients and clothing vouchers are available by referral from a social service agency.
Youth services offers an after-school program for children 6 to 11 years of age (2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday), which includes tutoring, computer lab (2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday) and a summer day camp. Also offers a bilingual (Spanish/English) women's group which meets Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. Volunteer opportunities are also available. Offers Spanish religious services Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. (Bible study) and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Fee $1.25 for senior meal; $100 per month for after-school activities (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.); $700 per week for summer day camp in addition to $20 registration fee.
Application Same-day registration is required for senior lunch; pre-registration is required for after-school activities and summer camp.
