Description A multipurpose center which primarily serves residents of the Ocean-Merced-Ingleside (OMI) community. Sponsors the Workforce Development Program which provides employment services to youth, young adults, adults, juveniles and ex-offenders citywide. Services include: resume writing workshops, interview techniques, dress for success seminars, job research and training skills, job placement and case management, internships with San Francisco City departments, after-school jobs, and referrals to social services.
Sponsors the Multicultural Partners Youth Diversity Program, an after-school program which provides homework assistance/tutoring, multimedia web page design, computer network training, hardware upgrade/installation training, mentor and leadership training, SAT and STAR exam preparation, cultural diversity workshops, and recreation/arts and crafts.
The center is a site for a food pantry program where residents receive free perishables and dry goods on Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The program is sponsored by the San Francisco Food Bank and local merchants. Limited Turkey baskets are available during the holiday seasons.
ICC advises OMI residents and local merchants on community enhancement services, neighborhood beautification, community involvement and leadership training, neighborhood watch and crime prevention programs, and emergency service referrals.
