Description Provides comprehensive outpatient adult and youth mental health services primarily for the OMI (Ocean View-Merced-Ingleside) community; includes on-site services as well as off-site and school-based services. On-site services include screening, evaluation, referral, and urgent care same-day services for severely mentally ill individuals. Sponsors a tuberculosis (TB) testing clinic and a psychotropic drug clinic. Provides medication evaluation and monitoring, and dual diagnosis groups for clients who are either mentally ill and substance abusers or developmentally delayed. Provides dual diagnosis services for individuals who are HIV positive and are mentally ill. Provides family counseling and psychodiagnostic assessment for children.
Sponsors off-site groups at various community locations. Off-site services for clients include evaluations, case management, case coordination, and referral for high-risk individuals who have been diagnosed as severely mentally ill. Provides outreach to African American clients to facilitate access to community services.
School-based services include crisis services, evaluation, referral, consultation, psychodiagnostic assessment, teacher education, and linkage to public and mental health services. Services are for special populations such as learning disabled and gifted students. Multicultural programs from elementary to high school are also offered.
Eligibility San Francisco resident with a mental illness.
Fee Sliding scale; Medi-Cal, Medicaid and Medicare are accepted.
Application Self-referrals are accepted; call for an intake interview; many clients are referred by other agencies.
Waiting Period Five days or less for intake evaluation.
