Description A national organization with 113 chapters in 26 states. JACL is the oldest and largest Asian American civil rights organization in the United States. JACL advocates for the civil and human rights of Japanese Americans and others victimized by social injustice and serves to promote and preserve the cultural heritage and values of Japanese Americans. Membership services and programs include a scholarship program, youth leadership training, a credit union, health plans, and a bi-monthly newspaper, "Pacific Citizen." This San Francisco location is the JACL national headquarters. Board meetings are held four times a year, location varies.
