| Description |
Recruits and trains volunteers to be ombudsmen who visit long-term care facilities (skilled nursing facilities or residential facilities) and adult day health care centers on a regular basis. Visiting volunteer advocates receive, investigate and attempt to resolve complaints lodged on behalf of frail residents. They also work with residents, family members and facility staff to resolve problems concerning patient rights, quality of care, physical environment, abuse and other related issues.
