| Description |
Offers a variety of services and programs to low and moderate income individuals. Programs include Bernal Heights Senior Services; Youth Employment and Outreach Services; and the Bernal Heights Housing Program (see separate listings). Sponsors the Greater Mission Consortium which consists of several community-based organizations offering programs and services to children and youth in the Mission and Outer Mission areas. Services include tutorial programs, gang prevention, social service coordination, job readiness training, legal education and representation, child care, supervised recreation, and anger-management support meetings. |

Sponsors an annual Community Congress and conducts house meetings to identify and prioritize Bernal Heights issues to be addressed by the Neighborhood Center. Produces cultural and fundraising events which include Fiesta on the Hill street festival; Hillwide Garage Sale; and Soul Food, Filipino, and Cinco de Mayo dinners. Call for meeting times and events. Meeting rooms are available for rent to the public; capacity from 30 to 130 with kitchen; call for rates and reservations. |

Publishes a bi-monthly newspaper "New Bernal Journal", which covers news and events in the neighborhood (available at BHNC); call 415-203-2140 ext.108 for ads or submissions. |
