| Description |
Educates, supports, empowers, and advocates for Asian and Pacific Islander communities, particularly those living with, or at-risk of HIV. The Center is committed to serving low-income, severe-need, un- and under-insured Asian and Pacific Islander populations including immigrants and refugees; lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, and questioning youth; gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men; transgender persons; and women working in massage parlors. |

Services include the Ohana Program which provides a comprehensive range of services through three program departments: HIV Care Services, Health Education, and Research and Technical Assistance; HIV Care Services provides on-site primary medical care, HIV treatment case management, mental health counseling, psychiatric consultation, treatment and peer advocacy, and individual and group support for those in severe need; Health Education provides multi-level and multi-lingual health promotion programming, including on-site and mobile HIV testing, needle exchange, volunteer and leadership development opportunities, workshops and support groups, community organizing and outreach, magnet community events, social marketing, and web-based outreach; AQUA (Asian/Pacific Islander Queer/Questioning Under 25 Altogether) youth group which offers peer support, workshops, and classes; and Research and Technical Assistance which provides capacity-building services and trainings which include community mobilization and organizational development; training is offered to staffed and volunteer organizations and Health Departments across the continental U.S. and Pacific Jurisdictions. |
