Description Provides public information and education about AIDS and HIV; educational retreats for women with HIV; and referrals to AIDS service organizations in the Bay Area (including support groups). Offers an onsite heterosexual HIV+ support group on the first and third Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. Offers peer advocacy and support including assisting women in accessing services and accompanying them to medical appointments.
WORLD publishes the "WORLD Newsletter" quarterly, written by and for women with HIV. Offers speakers on issues related to women and AIDS. Provides a meeting room for community organizations. Fees are negotiable. To make arrangements for speakers or the meeting room, contact Nena, 510-986-0340.
