Description Provides a variety of services for seniors including: case management; housing placement and referrals; legal assistance (specifically translations and referrals); and emergency financial assistance. Offers a variety of educational and recreational activities, including citizenship classes, weekly field trips, and arts and crafts. Provides nutrition education workshops and preventive health care screenings which may include blood pressure screenings. Distributes gold cards which enable seniors to purchase goods and services at a discount from participating merchants.
Provides a low-cost lunch with social activities from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., Sunday through Friday. Delivers meals to homebound clients. Provides semi-monthly grocery distribution as part of the San Francisco Food Bank's Brown Bag Program; see individual record for more information. Provides transportation to grocery stores and medical appointments. Offers volunteer opportunities.
Eligibility San Francisco resident 60 years of age and older.
Fee None for services. For weekday lunch, $1.25 donation is requested for seniors, and $3.50 for either guests or non-seniors.
Application Drop in and fill out a senior registration form to participate in the activities.
Transportation Muni (12 Folsom, 14 Mission, 22 Fillmore, 26 Valencia, 49 Van Ness-Mission or 53 Southern Heights) and BART (16th Street station).
