| Description |
Provides a homebuyer education program. Service includes pre-purchase homebuyer education workshops, mortgage preparation, credit counseling and mortgage default counseling. The workshops orient participants on homeownership opportunities, the process of purchasing a home, repairing credit, planning, saving and preventing the loss of existing ownership units by restructuring debt to reduce payments and curing late payments. Homebuyer workshops are conducted monthly. Speakers include lenders from banks or other financial institutions on requirements for obtaining a loan, credit counselors on repairing credit problems. SFHDC Project Development Department build affordable homes in San Francisco as well as rentals. SFHDC also provides Supportive Services to Bayview Commons Apartments completed in 2002. SFHDC also manages Alice Griffith Opportunity Center and is responsible for the facility management and coordination of social services, employment services, senior support services, adult literacy classes and after school educational enrichment activities to low and moderate income individuals and families. |
