| Description |
An anti-poverty community service system providing information and referral for basic human service needs, including medical, housing, economical use of home energy assistance, job assistance, and food needs. The Early Childhood Development Program provides educational and nutritional services for disadvantaged preschool children whose parents are enrolled in school, job training, or who are looking for work. Operates nine child care centers throughout the City, including infant child care in the Chinatown area. |

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program provides nutritious foods for women during pregnancy and those twelve months postpartum, infants and children up to age 6. Supplemental foods including infant formula, evaporated milk, non-fat dry milk, egg mix, cereal, canned meat, vegetables, fruit and fruit juices. The foods are distributed monthly through five distribution sites throughout the City. As a member of the Emergency Food Box Program, this agency makes food referrals for families in emergency situations. Donations of clean clothing (when available) are distributed to low-income clients. |
