Description Provides child care for children ages 3 months to 5 years. Services for children ages 2 to 5 years old are provided by center-based child care and preschool programs. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are also provided. Programs are offered at the following Cross Cultural Family Center sites: 1901 site located at 1901 O'Farrell Street, (415-567-4992); Marcus Garvey site located at 1672 Eddy Street, (415-567-9126); Richmond 1 site located at 750 31st Avenue, (415-668-7863) (Richmond District Neighborhood Center); Richmond 2 site located at 741 30th Avenue, (415-668-6539) (Richmond District Neighborhood Center); and the Tenderloin site located at 259 Turk Street, (415-928-5178).
Cross Cultural Family Center provides child care to infants and toddlers through family day care providers. Each family day care home is a private residence in which qualified, trained family day care providers care for four to 12 children. Family day care providers are located in Western Addition, Haight Ashbury, Richmond District, Sunset District, and Bayview-Hunter's Point neighborhoods.
Eligibility 3 months of age and not older than kindergarten age at the time of enrollment. Low-income is given priority. There are other eligibility requirements based on the individual program. Call the main office for further information.
Fee Sliding scale. Alternative payment sources (including TANF/CalWorks and PIC, or employer-sponsored subsidies) are accepted.
Application Call for an application. Parents or guardians and children are required to visit programs before enrollment. This observation visit may be scheduled before submitting application.
Waiting List There is a waiting list; three months to one year.
