Description Provides diagnostic and rehabilitative services for children and adults with hearing and speech or language disorders. Offers hearing aid consultation and dispensing, speech and language therapy, a speech pathology clinic, a preschool program for hearing impaired children from infancy through grade two, and oral education classes for deaf children. Also offers evaluation, consultation, and a support group for persons with tinnitus. Formerly known as San Francisco Hearing and Speech Center. The Hearing Society for the Bay Area merged with the Center.
Eligibility Child or adult with hearing and speech or language disorders.
Fee Varies according to service; no one is refused service due to inability to pay. Medi-Cal, Medicare and private insurance accepted. Pre-authorization is required for counties outside of San Francisco for Medi-Cal.
