Provides a free legal clinic on most Tuesdays at the Committee's office. Appointments are necessary. Limited legal information is available over the telephone. Most callers are given an appointment or referred to another agency for services. |

Sponsors free immigration clinics at La Raza Information Center on the second and fourth Thursday of each month from 5:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.; and at the Asian Law Caucus on the first and third Thursday of each month from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Services are bilingual at both locations. Appointments are necessary at La Raza; individuals may drop in at the Asian Law Caucus. |

Sponsors the Political Asylum Project, which provides legal information and referrals to agencies that assist refugees applying for asylum in order to remain in the United States. The Lawyers' Committee screens callers for these services. Publishes a bi-annual newsletter, "Voices for Justice." The Lawyer's Committee is a member of the Coalition for Civil Rights, an ad hoc, umbrella group that holds monthly meetings to address civil right issues. |
