Description A nonprofit legal center dedicated to serving disability organizations and individuals with all types of disabilities. Advocates for civil rights of disabled individuals to end discrimination in public accommodations, transportation, housing, various types of health and life insurance, education, employment, and access to health care. Provides legal advice and consultation and, in appropriate cases, pursues impact litigation. Initiated and sponsors the "Disability Holocaust Project" which provides awareness of the plight of people with disabilities during the Nazi era. Publishes "Disability Watch," a report on the legal status of people with disabilities, and "Guide to the Legal Rights of Public School Students with Disabilities."
Eligibility Individuals with any type of disability.
Fee Services are free to clients.
Application Submit a short summary of legal concern in writing using mail or e-mail. Application by telephone is also available, if mail or e-mail is not possible.
