Local resource for the national Compassion & Choices. Supports the right of the mentally competent terminally-ill, or irreversibly-ill with intolerable suffering, to a self-determined death, and to legally obtain assistance from a physician. Provides telephone referrals to support groups. Offers workshops and publications, including forms for a Living Will and appointing a Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care. Educates the public about patients' rights and end-of-life issues. Works with medical professionals to improve quality of communication with the terminally ill. This organization does not provide names of physicians or others who provide physician aid-in-dying. |
