Description A grassroots membership organization dedicated to working with youth and their families to find community-based solutions to the problems they face. Advocates for public policies which support and protect the rights of children, youth, and families. Offers trainings, technical assistance, and conferences for members. Publishes a quarterly newsletter. Volunteer opportunities are available.
Sponsors the California Youth Crisis Line (800-THE-5200), a telephone hotline providing crisis intervention and counseling for youth, runaways and their families. Services include: suicide intervention; counseling and information for victims of physical and sexual abuse, assault and exploitation; referrals to drug and alcohol abuse services; sexual orientation counseling and information; and counseling and information for youth offenders and gang members.
