Description Operates a multipurpose center offering a variety of services and activities that are structured to meet the social, recreational and educational needs of Asian American women. Offers a "Survival English Class," which includes conversational English, American culture, and survival skills. Provides a Parent-Child Development Program offering structured pre-school activities for immigrant children; speech and mental health screening, assessment and treatment; and support groups for immigrant parents for developing parenting skills. A summer school provides learning, socialization and English tutoring for low-to moderate-income school children through daily classes, cultural outings, and recreational activities. At-risk youth participate in the program by becoming teachers' aides and attending youth leadership workshops.
The After-School Tutorial Program provides homework tutoring and recreational activities for children in grades 1-6. The Cultural, Social and Recreational Program provides classes and other activities to promote Asian culture and heritage, as well as citizenship preparation. The center also provides information about other organizations and the community services they provide.
