| Description |
The Treasurer, elected by the voters, is responsible for receiving, disbursing, and investing all San Francisco City funds (except retirement funds). Manages the day-to-day cash flow of the City. Oversees the Tax Collector's Office which is responsible for the receipt and deposit of taxes, license fees, delinquent accounts for other City departments, and all other payments due to the City. The City Payment Center (City Hall, Room 140; 415-554-4400) provides information and convenient payment processing services for a variety of transactions including transit passes available for purchase (including Muni and BART), water department payments, business tax payment and registration, property tax payment, license fee payments (including dog, taxi, hotel, condominium, and apartment, Public Health Department, Police Department, Fire Department, and special events), scrip discount books for Recreation and Park Department swimming pools, San Francisco Golf Cards, and accepts U.S. passport applications. |
