Description A community television station and media training center called Access San Francisco that provides access to state-of-the art production facilities and low-cost training workshops to local residents and community organizations. Programs produced using these facilities are cablecast on two cable channels called Access 1 and Access 2 (see channels following). Other programs that are produced locally can be submitted for broadcast. Also advocates for public interest telecommunications policy on behalf of San Franciscans-at-large.
Access 1 is located on Comcast channel 29, Astound channel 29, and AT&T channel 99 Access 2 is located on Comcast channel 76, Astound channel 30, and AT&T channel 99
Eligibility San Francisco residents, students, and/or workers and San Francisco community-based organizations.
Fee Annual membership is $36 for individuals submitting programming for cablecast. Organizational memberships range from $95 to $465 . Training ranges from no-cost events to $95 per workshop.
Application Drop in during open hours for a Policy and Procedure manual and application. Orientation and completion of certification-based training is required for use of facilities and check out of field production equipment.
